Ginger Cruise

from $171 /person

  • Cruise Name: Ginger Cruise
  • Type: Superior Cruise
  • Locations: Halong Bay, Quang Ninh, Vietnam
  • Duration: 2 days 1 night or 3 days 2 nights
  • Departure: Daily depart from Hanoi Old Quarter
  • Review: 9.2 /10 - Superb (Based on 4 reviews)

As the sun rises over the thousands of karst islands that dot Halong Bay, the sails of the Ginger glow saffron. Built to resemble a traditional wooden junk, the Ginger features wood-paneled lounges, shimmering silks and Indochine-style furnishings.

Simple yet elegant, the cabins feature large windows-perfect for viewing the bay’s ever-changing scenery. With just ten cabins, the Ginger offers an intimate means of exploring Halong Bay. Guests can rise before dawn and take a tai chi class on the sundeck; join the friendly kitchen staff in a Vietnamese cooking class; and swap stories on plush sofas in the boat’s cozy bar.

Measuring 38 meters (125 feet) in length, this newly built, custom-designed yacht features three decks that house an elegant restaurant, two bars, a small library, and a massage room plus ten luxurious sleeping cabins. With so much space, passengers can truly unwind and enjoy the bay’s magnificent scenery. While all those who visit Halong Bay are charmed by the archipelago’s beauty, few visitors are aware that the three-thousand islands that dot this bay are home to many rare plants, including species found nowhere else in the world.

We chose our boat’s name “Halong Ginger” because, like the plant it was named after, our junk is perfectly suited to this environment. With its golden sails, polished woodwork and refined, Asian décor, the Halong Ginger offers an unforgettable ambiance of relaxed elegance. Join us, and see Halong Bay in style.

We did the 2 night / 3 daycruise and I urge anyone planning to visit Ha Long Bay to make time to do the same. We have no comparison points but our time on Jasmine was faultless. The staff were outstanding, the food was fantastic, the cabins were a revelation ( go for deck 2 - well worth the extra for the balcony ) and the activities were great fun. The middle day is spent on the day boat which takes you deeper into the bay to explore. Friends are made instantly and the whole trip was immaculately managed from beginning to end - thank you to tour manager Sunny, the captain and all the crew for making this the highlight of our Vietnam adventure. https://www.tripadvisor.com.vn/ShowUserReviews-g293923-d1510045-r360846564-Jasmine_Cruise_Day_Trip-Halong_Bay_Quang_Ninh_Province.html#

We went on the 3 day, 2 night cruise on Jasmine. We had never been on any kind of cruise before, so didn't really know what to expect. This was, from start to finish, an amazing experience. The entire staff were brilliant. They were all helpful, friendly and happy, ensuring you knew what was going on at all times. They were not at all intrusive, but always there if you needed them. The food was superb and more than enough to fill the hungriest of people. A large proportion of the food was seafood, but they catered for those who didn't like seafood with alternatives. They provided plenty of complimentary drinking water and tea and coffee. All other drinks are extra, but there was a very well stocked bar with plenty of alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. If you choose to partake in all of the activities, there was more than enough to keep you entertained throughout with the occasional hour of quiet time. This included early morning Tai Chi, kayaking, caves, cycling, swimming, Cat Ba island visit, (floating) Fishing village visit and of course the stunning scenery of Halong Bay itself. It wasn't the best of weather when we went with misty mornings and evenings and a bit of rain, but that didn't detract at all, in fact, the mist made it all slightly more mysterious. The boat itself was beautifully fitted out with a lovely dining area and very nice cabins. I would definitely recommend the 2 night option if you can afford it and have the time. It was a shame it all had to end! https://www.tripadvisor.com.vn/ShowUserReviews-g293923-d1510045-r360846564-Jasmine_Cruise_Day_Trip-Halong_Bay_Quang_Ninh_Province.html#
