1 of us were on the 3days, 2 nights cruise. In addition to the crew, there was a guide chung. Although, the guide has been on the job for 10 years and does the same route back to back for 25 days, he wasn't jaded. He was able to still make the stories and trip interesting. This trip had kayaking, swimming and was not suitable elderly travellers who cannot participate in these activities. Seafood dinner was yummy. For big eaters, it would not be sufficient. One of the breakfast was mainly carbohydrates. We saw very few other cruise ships except at night when we anchored.

We spent many hours researching where to go and who to sail with. We were very happy with our choice of Dragon's Pearl Junks. Here's why... 1. This was a quality cruise. They deliver what they promise on the website and in their literature. While more expensive than some, it was a good value. The only extra cost was for alcohol. Kayaking was included. 2. The scenery was wonderful in Bai Tu Long and never felt crowded. 3. So happy we went with the 3d/2n cruise. We had enough time to enjoy it. Besides, you take so much time planning and getting there you don't want to just quickly rush through it. Did not get tired of the beautiful scenery. 4. Nice junk. Only 11 cabins. They are small but adequate. Comfortable bed. Nice windows. Bathroom and shower was larger than expected. Plenty of deck space to relax and enjoy the views. 5. Good itinerary. Nice mix of sailing/relaxing, kayaking, time at fishing village. 6. Food was good. Not amazing, but good. Dinner in the cave was a unique and special experience. On the junk, there is an inside and outside dining area. The weather was great and we ate all our meals outside. You will be sitting with others so try to be friendly. We enjoyed meeting people from many countries. 7. Pick up from hotel in Hanoi was on time in a comfortable van. It is a long ride so this is important. Stopped along the way at Yen Duc for water puppet show and lunch. This was a nice extra. (And there is a stop at a large store with a chance to buy stuff, use the toilets and buy a snack). All the research paid off. We had a great experience.
