The cruise was booked based upon a recommendation from friends. We were extremely impressed from the initial arrival at the dock with details covered right down to the fragrance preferred in our room. Guests were drummed onto the boat and all were made very welcome. Surprisingly a number of children were on board and they were also catered for well with activities such as squid fishing, kayaking and swimming. You could mix or decide not to mix with other guests - the time was yours to decide what you wanted to do based on a comprehensive program including planned visits to a magnificent Sung Sot (surprise cave), bike of use an electric car to visit Viet Hai village which was decimated in floods some years ago and now produces eco friendly vegetables for the cruise line. The highlight for me was a visit to a fishing village where you were rowed around the floating Vung Vieng fishing village. Activities were provided on board such as fruit carving, cooking classes and a tea ceremony which were of interest. Food - 5 courses per meal were provided which consisted of small serves of a range of Vietnamese dishes specialising in fresh and unique good combination and flavours. Fabulous presentation and colour combos. The rooms were well presented in luxurious dark wood. Would suggest bringing minimal luggage and leave balance in Hanoi if possible. Wonderful to have experienced such beautiful natural surroundings. A must do on your life's list!
